Care of Your Shell Products
Please remember - only clean your shells with a clean, soft, damp cloth. The cloth should have nothing more than water on it.
Cleaners, bleaches, and solvents will damage your shells, your design and the wood finish. Solvents will potentially penetrate the glue that holds the design together, and could remove shell sheen, shell glue, and wood finish.
Please avoid:
1. Picking your design up by the shells.
2. Standing your design on its side or top.
3. Placing the weight of the design on the shells.
Shell products should not be stored in direct sunlight. Exposure to direct sunlight can sometimes cause a slight yellowing of the adhesive. Additionally, the direct sunlight exposure can cause expansion and contraction of the shells and substrate and can weaken the adhesive bond. As shells and the substrate, wood, have different rates of thermal expansion we suggest all shell designs be kept indoors, and out of direct sun exposure for best long life results.
